Weathering

Weathering happens when rocks are broken into smaller pieces. These smaller pieces are called
sediment, sand, pebbles, or silt. Rocks and landscapes are continuously reforming. People’s actions
can speed up and slow down the rates of weathering and erosion. Weathering is usually a slow and
invisible process.
